USO DA ACUPUNTURA E ELETROACUPUNTURA NO TRATAMENTO DA SINDROME DO INTESTINO IRRITÁVEL

Resumo

A Síndrome do Intestino Irritável é uma desordem gastrointestinal funcional crônica que afeta o intestino delgado e grosso  caracterizada por episódios recorrentes de dor abdominal e mudança no habito intestinal que podem esta associados à  distensão e defecação desordenada, na ausência de identificação de causa orgânico, de acordo com a definição global de Roma IV. O gerenciamento atual da patologia é voltado para abordagens multidisciplinares focadas principalmente para o manejo dos sintomas, com o objetivo de melhorar a qualidade de vida dos pacientes, visto que todas as drogas geram um efeito curativo insatisfatório e apresentam limitações e efeitos colaterais significativos, o que leva os pacientes a buscarem a medicina complementar e alternativa (MCA).
